December's "Grace"ful Card Workshop

I can't even believe that December is less than a week away! So take out your tattered pocket calendar and mark Friday, December 11th with a note about making cards! Just wanted to post a reminder along with a re-cap of my workshop details.

Each month I hold a Card Workshop where I show you how to assemble 3 cards. We'll cut, paste, stamp and more! I also like to incorporate a tip or technique so that you can learn something new to use on your own projects at home. I now have a stamp set available for you to use so that you can customize the sentiments on your cards (ie: get well; congratulations; thinking of you; etc.). The supply fee for the 3 cards is $10. You also have the option of purchasing the workshop kit (the December kit is pictured above) for $29.95 (+ tax & s/h) in which case I will waive the $10 supply fee because your supplies will be in your kit. The kits are a great deal because they include 22 sheets of 12 x 12 paper, an exclusive stamp set that is only available by ordering the kit, and a coordinating embellishment set. The kits also come with an instruction guide to help you complete additional cards or scrapbook layouts at home.

In addition, I also have a drawing for a prize at each workshop. For the December workshop I have a cute little stamp set that will be given away to drawing winner! Your name goes into the drawing once for RSVP'ing; another time for attending; and an additional time for bringing a new friend! The workshops are a lot of fun and I hope that everyone enjoys being creative and maybe learning something new in the process!

Twitterpated Layout

We made this layout during one of the creative sessions at the Portland Regional Celebration a few weeks ago. I love the colors! The pictures of my daughter at the park go really well with the Twitterpated paper. I was wondering if anyone would be interested if I held a workshop where we completed this layout? If you purchased the Twitterpated paper pack, then you would already have the paper needed. Let me know what you think!

Twitterpated Card Workshop This Friday!!

Just a reminder - this Friday, 11/13 will be the Twitterpated Card Workshop at 7:00 pm. We'll be using Liquid Glass to add dimension to the cards - you'll love it! I added a second table, so I have 4 more seats if you are interested! Hope to see you Friday!

So Many Projects, so little sleep!

Well I'm back from the CTMH Regional Celebration this past weekend. I flew home Sunday morning after spending 3 days in Portland, Oregon. I gathered a lot of information and made a lot of projects. Mostly cards, but also 2 layouts. I even won a couple of things! :) The thing I did not get was very much sleep! So I am completely exhausted!!

As part of our registration, we received a great tote bag with lots of pockets for scrapping supplies. I used it a lot during the creative sessions. We also received 4 stamp sets, which we used a lot to make the various projects. In addition, we were given an entire Sweet Home Paper Pack! We made a 2 page layout from a few papers in this kit. I'm hoping to get some pictures uploaded over the next few days of the projects we made.

Off to Portland!

Well I'm all packed and ready to head off to Portland, Oregon for the Close to My Heart Regional Celebration. I'm looking forward to learning some new things, seeing some great projects done with our products, and having lots of fun!

I'm anticipating coming back with lots of exciting things to tell about, so check out my blog over the next few weeks as I share my experiences & artwork!

I'll also see some of you at the card workshop next Friday, November 13th at 7:00 pm. Let me know if you'd like to come - I still have some open spots!

You'll Be Twitterpated!

Here is a glimpse of the cards we'll be making at the November Card Workshop! I am in love with this paper line and can't wait to do this workshop! The paper is called Twitterpated and just came out in the new Autumn/Winter Idea Book. At this workshop we'll be using the adorable Hedgehog & Toadstool (a.k.a. mushroom) stamp set that is only available in the workshop Kit. The Kit includes the Twitterpated Level 2 Paper Pack, the stamp set, and a collection of brown ribbon spools all for $29.95. Remember, if you purchase the Kit in advance it will be ready for you on workshop night and I will waive the $10 supply fee (since your supplies will be in your kit!). Ordering the kit is a great value, especially if you adore this paper line like I do, since you'll leave the workshop with 3 completed cards, a stamp set, ribbon and enough paper left in your paper pack to complete several more projects! Kits must be ordered by November 1st to arrive in time for the workshop on Friday, November 13th at 7pm. Hope to see you then!

Another Fun Card Workshop

We had another fun night of making cards at the last workshop. This card was my personal favorite from the 3 we made. It had great dimension to it and I loved the background paper. We did a lot of stamping and A LOT of cutting! (Sorry!) Everyone did great though!

The November card workshop will be held on the 2nd Friday of the month, November 13th at 7:00 pm. I'll be posting photos & information regarding the cards we will make and what is included in the kit. Kit orders will need to be received by November 1st so I can get them ordered and received in time for the workshop.

Fun Card Night Upstairs!

Fun & Happy Card!

We had another fun card night on 9/4 - making cards upstairs in the new addition! It was fun to have a group up in that space even though it is still empty! I hope you all enjoyed the workshop.

Here is one of the cards we made. We also used the envelope flats available in the CTMH Idea Book. These are great for making your envelope match or coordinate with your card. We also set some eyelets and found out that Hanna was our eyelet queen!

The next card workshop will be Friday, October 2nd at 7:00 pm. This workshop will be the first of the new CTMH Card Workshops. I'll be charging a $10 supply fee for 3 cards. Next week I'll be posting pictures of the cards and of the Card Kit that is available for purchase. If you wish to purchase the Card Kit for $29.95, then the $10 supply fee will be waived. The Kit includes a stamp set, a level 2 paper packet, and an embellishment set. The stamp set is only available in the kit - there is no other way to get it! Check back next week for more information or give me a call. I'll need to order your kit in advance of the workshop.

More gift bag pics

Bags & Briefcases

This is how I spent a few hours list past Friday night & Saturday afternoon - making little gift bags for some friends. At first I just picked some nice papers & fired up my Cricut with the Bags & Tags cartridge. Then my creative juices kicked in and I started to add more details as I went along. Two of them were for guys, so I made them look more like briefcases by stitching them & adding their monogrammed initials. I had a lot of fun thinking of different things to make each one unique!

Thanks for coming!

Thanks to everyone who attended my card workshop the other night. I hope you all had fun and liked the cards we created. Since this was my first workshop I appreciate your patience ;) Hopefully I will get better at teaching the projects. Thanks also to my Mom for all her help and to my Dad for babysitting the kids.

Kudos to Kelly & Sandra for making your first cards - they turned out great!! And it wouldn't have been as much fun without Teresa on the sidelines cheering us on ;) You stamped great too!

My next card workshop is set for Friday, September 4th at 7:00 pm. Let me know if there is a specific type of card you'd like to do (ie: anniversary; get well; etc.). If you are interested in doing scrapbook layouts I'll need to know in advance so that I can get the materials ready for you. I was thinking of doing a layout ready for beach/summer photos.

My Mom & I at the Scrapbook Expo in San Jose, CA last summer. Hoping to attend again this year. Anyone going in August? I think it's August 7th & 8th? Last year we did a lot of classes, but I think it was too much for my brain! I enjoy shopping the booths and would also like to try the all day crop.

Hey There!

Welcome! Well you've found my newly started site and you're probably wondering just what in the world it's about? Since I am just getting going with this whole "blogging" world, I appreciate your patience! My goal is to connect with other paper-obsessed-crafters and share projects, ideas, and the latest from Close to My Heart. Hope you return soon to find more content. Thanks for visiting :)
